0008 Daily Notes 2013 Tuesday October 8th Discovering new sea wall and esplanade being built Tyne esturay South Shields and Directors Cut Wicker Man

0008 8th October 2013. After a long night with 9.1 hours of Sleep Apnoea machine treatment resulting in back to the extraordinary average of 8.5 for this month so far and making a mess of chess going back to zero at fourth level I have decided to commence publication of the notes commencing with the first three before getting down to see if I can complete the work on cricket future and past season with Durham. It is now 9.35.

9,50 completed uploading of first three Notes for October 0001-0003 and now for some breakfast. There is a bright blue sky outside although the weather forecast elsewhere is not good.

10.05 Change of plan given such a clear blue sky and will get dressed for going out after two small cheese omelettes and sign up at the new leisure centre down the hill.

I walked down the hill in the sunshine although a stiff breeze meant that I needed to walk fast to avoid feeling rhe cold, wearing only my suit without a coat. The Leisure centre is fully fenced off with only site access so the flyer suggesting call in appears to be premature and mote I think about the quoted prices they must be monthly. We shall see when I attempt to join on line after this and deciding on activities for the rest of the month.

Going to view the working from the coast road I had something of a surprise to find major workings along the whole length of Little Haven as a new sea wall is being created separating the beach with a new promenade and additional car park. I walked the far end of the development to the small visitors centre which explains the work being undertaken. On the return I was about to cross over the road to walk up the steps on to the Lawe top when i was approached by two girls I assume to be Chinese from one comment made, possibly students from Newcastle who were in search of the beach. How they came to be at this point I found confusing as they did not appear to have along Ocean Road as they asked for the direction to the Metro, although this may be having lost their sense of direction. In any event I walked back with them passed the amusement park which amused one of the two and then on to the beach walkway suggesting they continued for about fifteen minutes to the raised walkway where they would be a great view of the whole beach. Afterwards I regretted not continuing to walk with them but I was conscious of my need to get back and move on. I needed to change my shirt which was drenched with sweat such was the vigour of the walking.

Passing the Sambucca restaurant I noted that they have introduced the £3.95 lunch with Minestrone soup or potato skins, any Pizza or pasta, coffee or ice cream and I will commenced partake once a week on a good weather day. Brilliant

15.00 I enjoyed a Chinese stir fry with chicken and a sauce but not the noodles as I need to do a lot more walking to get back the gain in the few pounds from the good eating of the past couple of days. I also finished the exposure of the drink and drugs sun resort in Bulgaria. Brilliant with the Mayor upset and appearing unaware of the reality or deliberately obtuse especially as the tour company using/responsible for the hotel demanding the interview stop and the filming end so the reporter had to leave the premises. This si great insight and reminds of 20 to 20 club experiences in Spain in the 19080’s, now thirty years ago, things do not change, except perhaps worse as in Bulgaria the hold of Christian and Muslim moral and ethical values does not appear to exist as in Prague but to a less significant extent.

16.45 Discovered a Final Directors Cut Version of Wicker Man is on tonight at Bolden Cineworld so have booked up my favourite aisle seat for £4.05 on line but at 21.10 showing Will I keep awake? Will go to Asda for the shopping beforehand and coffee at Mac D. Exciting times.

00.25 Time for bed after returning from see the Wicker Man Final Directors Cut which I expected to be in HD but was not and where it was difficult to see any difference between the previous full version without the original cuttings from 40 years ago. Will write more also noting that unlikely that anyone of the other 20 patrons saw the original version in theatre like me. Enjoyed a Mac D coffee before noting that upstairs has not become a Starbucks coffee lounge although not significantly difference from previously. Called in at Asda before this for new dustpan and brush, toilet rolls and a couple packets of liquorice. The tins of chockies were £4 each and I though and had seen a notice of two for £7 somewhere which would fine for Halloween which is coming up at the end of the month.
