07 04.2014 I was recommended the book which I have ordered as the main event of the weekend while the media was mainly concerned with the issue of the future of the Culture Minister and to some extent that of the Prime Minister.
The important new development in relation to historical crimes of physical and sexual violence against children( to 10 years) and our people( to 16 years)was an article by Eileen Fairweather in the Sunday Telegraph about the involvement of Jimmy Savile in the Islington home now under investigation as part of the Gove list and where the present Councillor accountable for Child Protection is the son in law of Margaret Hodge with the information of children being taken to Jersey and others from Jersey to Islington. There is also reference to the role of the former Assistant Director married to a local senior police officer and the disappearance of crucial file information together with the failure of the Social Services Inspectorate to take action.
I was reminded of Eileen Fairweather’s article in the Evening Standards 2009 in which she expressed concern at the apparent inaction of the Inspectorate after the failure to protect a terrified relative of the mother of Baby P when they were in care together in an Islington home. This raises once more my concern at the role of the Inspectorate in a number of situations in the 1980’s and 1990’s and the role of the Inspectorate needs to be considered as part any national investigation into what happened.
There was also an article in the Manchester Evening News about someone now aged 56 years who alleges that the officer in Charge of Broom House, jailed for targeting boys in care was “ introduced” to Savile when he was 13 years of age. Ron Hall ( no connection with Stuart and his brother Keith) became an Assistant Director in the Manchester Social Services Department. And was released in 2010 after completion of his sentence. What appears a less substantial story comes from the Halifax Courier which very loosely attempts to link the murder of a school girl to Savile although the newspaper could find no record of the former DJ being in the area at the time.
The Mail On line gave space to a story with several photos about a woman’s 25 year fight for justice for her son who she alleges was criminally assaulted by a local policeman The mother describes how when she reported the offence the man’s colleagues refused to take action and her son suffered a breakdown in his teens. Maureen Jenkins remained determined to achieve justice and among other things sailed across the Atlantic single handed. Last November the police admitted sexual crimes against the boy and four others and was jailed for six and a half years. Several times she asked for the original allegation to properly investigated and it is only in the new climate of understanding and approach that the belated action was taken
A Twitter contact Sindona X on the site of the same name draws attention to have raised with Keith Vaz Chair of the Home Affairs Committee his failure and that of the IPCCC to investigate the “ you wash my hands I was yours agreement Manus Manum Lavat between Merseyside police Merseyside Police and City Councillors which also smacks of a Masonic aspect..
I cannot remember where I first heard the story about Operation Ore a police operation following the provision of information by the USA that individuals world wide, including from the UK were paying to watch children criminally assaulted interactively, not just passive watching, and where some of the names released were as high powered as any involved original PIE discoveries and more recently at Elm House, and also involving Islington and Bryn Alyn and other establishments. Scott net had a story back in 2003 about the allegation that Prime Minister Blair used a D notice to stop continuing coverage of story as papers became focused on at least one member of Cabinet. The story broke in the Scottish Herald on January 19th of that year. It continues to resurface given that both Party political Administration are accused of covering up/
I have also just caught up with a piece about the work of Tom Watson to uncover the civil servants servant responsible for funding PIE which appeared in the Wolverhampton Express and Star last February 26th. I just admit that when I first heard about the funding I assumed this had been at the request of special branch or another branch of homeland security with a view to an undercover ops gaining access to intelligence especially that of membership and active participants. That was certainly what happened throughout my involvement with the various campaigns and protest movements against the possession and potential use of weapons of mass destruction in the early 1960‘s.
Also noted for the first time the Mirror on line version re a Former Tory Cabinet Minister about to be charged over Elm House Involvement. There are references to Operation Orchid and Sydney Cooke and to a decision not to disclose a number of names because of concern in relation to ongoing police enquiries,
Responding to Twitter Tweets about the lack of concrete info from government about the number of police operations involving residential establishments for children and young people, complaints successful prosecutions acquired some new followers which now number a select 69, following 176. Beverley Usher is a local journalist who states that as a cub reporter she interviewed several Witherwack survivors on her blog Seahorse HQ Health and Education PR Another local journalist Richard Ord Jeffrey Babut
