I have one photo album showing the 101 restaurants, takeaways pubs and nightclubs within a mile of my home, and almost every week an advertising leaflet is pushed through my door such is the nature of the competition for business. I pile these up with the telephone directory and periodically, as now I go through them before sending duplicates for recycling. I am unlikely to phone an order but you never know. What amazes is that despite have half a dozen takeaway in Ocean Road I am circulated by those from further afield. I like Fredericke and hope it will be resurrected keeping the second hand curio shops. It is outside the mile walking limit.

I break off at half time in the radio commentary of Sunderland at Fulham which is 0.0 time and where they won 3.1 last season. Earlier I missed the Boro thrashed by Chelsea 5.0.
Yesterday I did a wide ranging shop at Morrison's Sunderland after calling in at the coast fish mongers for Sea bass the most expensive fish available and bought all that was on offer eight pieces for £23.00 around £3 a piece but about half the size pieces from that offered at the door a month back so that a ten pack offer for £5 might not be such a bad bargain if I divide the packs into two. I must also visit the fish market in Sunderland to see their prices. At Morrison's I could not resist half price picture books of the 40's 50's and 60's which I shall review another day. I also acquired to new tea mugs of the right size, coloured deep royal blue and with a couple of stylish white markings on one side. There were priced £1.99 but a two for one offer. I stocked up with meats, four pork chops, two pieces of steak and two packs of two chops. There was also some filled pasta shells also a two for one and a two for £2.50 which will divided provide 8 portions. There was a packed jar of anchovies, some white crabmeat chunks. There were two packs of Southern Fried chicken pieces which have been made into five meal portions. I have been out of apple sauces for months leaving the pork dishes bereft, I favoured plums, pears and grapes for fruit growing tired of bananas for a while. The supermarket has maintained an excellent meat deli and I selected two slices of Wiltshire ham. 100 grams of Napoli salami thinly slices cost only £1.09 rather than £1.30-£1.40 in pre-packed, oddly and they also had a Spanish on offer which I was able try beforehand and with a small cube goats cheese and these to mini bites formed my tea. I bought a small carton of dried figs and of dates. I nearly forgot I also got a couple of two portion packs of Italian pancetta ideal for stir fry’s if I am going have individual pieces of meat or chicken rather than a whole chicken of joints. The treat apart from my set of books was a two for one smoked salmon offer. 100 grams portions which I will divide into three and eat with a twist of lemon on a slice of toast as a meal starter. The stir fry meat reminds that I found a pack of runner beans reduced for 39 pence. There was a treat for the day a pack of shell on prawns which will be evening starter and a treat for Christmas was a 400 gram box of Florentines.
Sunderland should have won their game and had a goal disallowed because a player moved into the wall after being warned not to do so by the referee. Shots hit posts and ricocheted between pots but none went in. It was a good point but should have been three. Arsenal and Liverpool came back from losing the first goal and Manchester United were awesome with Berbatov, Rooney, Giggs and Ronaldo being an awesome foursome.
I watched one film for the umpteenth time Rio Grande with John Wayne in which is heads a fort plagued by Indians who raid then cross back into Mexico. 15 years previous in the civil war he was ordered to destroy the crops on his farm rather than let them fall into the hands of the other side in the civil war he and his wife separated and since then he has not seen her or his son who during the film he learns has failed the maths examination at West Point he enlists the next day and is one of the additional troops brought in because of the frontier problems. Unable to favouritism the boy is taken under the wing of his Sergeant played by Victor McLaglen. When his mother comes out to collect her son having arranged for a buy out, the affection between the couple become love again after various tests and adventures in which his some becomes a hero and father is injured. The film is loosely based on an historical event when a regiment did cross the border national military orders. This is one of three films by John Ford with John Wayne, Fort Apace being the second and the best known of all She Wore a Yellow Ribbon. It good Saturday morning cinema stuff shown early evening so missed this weeks episode of Merlin which I watch on the BBC I player, I also only saw some of Strictly Come Dancing before switching over to the X factor where no performances or performers made me say WOW. The evening ended with disappointing MOBO awards programme.
I had commenced some work but progress was slow because of the time spent trying to solve computer problems because of soft ware and hardware problems in relation use of disks and memory stick as well as printer which I must attend to soon.
